Philips and Dutch Uncle Agency invited me to create a mural for their new headquarters in Amsterdam. An artwork serving the people and culture of Philips as a reminder of change, growth and transformation, connecting people to each other and the world around them, bringing the outside in. Each floor represents a different part of the world, this one represents Europe.
I wanted to create a world built from shapes based on European flora and fauna, not scientific but abstract. Hints of European trees, animals and landscapes. A suggestion, something that could be.
Three meter high trees, bursting through the floor and pushing through the roof dividing the canvas in segments providing views on different subjects. Biomedical references, products, important historical locations and the world on micro- and macroscopic scale.
